Mount Wilson Drive and Lunch

Start your Saturday, May 20th, off with a beautiful mountain drive through the hills to the top of Mount Wilson.  This three-hour round-trip drive will give you breathtaking views of Los Angeles and the Angeles National forest.  Sign up for the optional boxed lunch from Mendocino Farms and enjoy some great food while overlooking the city.  After lunch you can take a free self-guided tour of the grounds or sign up for the 1pm guided tour at the Cosmic Cafe.

We will meet in La Canada Flintridge at 10:00 am for a cars and coffee at Starbucks before heading out at 11:00 am to the top of the mountain.  We'll stop mid-way up the mountain to get some group pictures.  When we arrive at the top, we'll eat our picnic lunches overlooking the city.  We recommend bringing folding camping chairs for lunch as there are limited benches.  After, you can take a self-guided tour of the grounds or sign up at the Cosmic Cafe for the 1pm guided tour (space is limited).  

The drive is 40 miles round-trip from our starting location up a steep mountain so please arrive with enough charge to get back to your location.

One Forest Service Day pass is required per car to park (or you can use your yearly pass if you already have one)
