Mount Wilson Drive and Lunch

Start your Saturday off with a beautiful mountain drive through the hills to the top of Mount Wilson.  This three-hour round-trip drive will give you breathtaking views of Los Angeles and the Angeles National forest.  Sign up for the optional boxed lunch from Mendocino Farms and enjoy some great food while overlooking the city.  One of our club members who works at the facility has also volunteered to give free tours to our group (RSVP required).

We will meet in La Canada Flintridge at 9:30am for a cars and coffee at Starbucks before heading out at 10:30am to the top of the mountain.  We'll stop mid-way up the mountain to get some group pictures.  When we arrive, those who want to take the tour can do so or you can take a hike along the trails.  We'll then eat our picnic lunches overlooking the city before heading back down the hill.  We recommend brining folding camping chairs for lunch as there are limited benches. 

The drive is 40 miles round-trip from our starting location up a steep mountain so please arrive with enough charge to get back to your location.

One Forest Service Day pass is required per car to park (or you can use your yearly pass if you already have one)
